Well, that was an interesting election.

From a tax perspective, at least here in California, the voters appeared in a charitable mood passing $23+ billion in new state taxes (if you count $9 billion in bonds). That does not account for the many local parcel taxes, soda taxes, and UUT expansions that occurred locally. An interesting time for sure…

I tweeted a few weeks back about liking the dawn better than a sunset because I like beginnings better than endings.  Well, today is a beginning as I embark on a new endeavor to do more of what I enjoy … advocating for taxpayers on issues of state and local tax.  Still controversy and practical advice for solving specific taxpayer problems, but in addition a larger engagement on issues that should matter to taxpayers.  Stay tuned…
